EB Royals sweep Mets in opening day games

The East Brewton Royals baseball team picked up two wins over the Mets on opening day to go 2-0.
In game one, the Royals benefited from a no-hitter on the mound from Jennings Hobbs to get a 14-2 win. In game two, the Royals edged out the Mets 7-6 thanks to a two out triple from Paxton Scurlock to end the game.
In game one, the Royals scored six runs in the first inning to help them to the win. The Royals added three runs each in the second and third innings and two more in the fourth while holding the Mets to two runs in the third inning to get the 12-run win.
Hobbs went four innings on the mound and allowed two runs, none earned, no hits, struck out nine and walked four.
At the plate, Bradley Lowery scored two runs and had two hits and two RBIs. Hobbs scored one run and had two hits, with one being a triple and had two RBIs.
Sawyer Lewis scored two runs and had two hits and one RBI while Cayden Nowling scored one run and had two hits, with one being a double, and had one RBI. Austin McCall added a double and one RBI.
In game two, the Royals earned a 7-6 win over the Mets.
The Royals led 5-0 after one inning but surrendered one run to the Mets in the second inning, two in the second and three in the fourth to fall behind 6-5. From there, Scurlockā€™s two out triple scored two runs to give the Royals the 7-6 win.
Lewis had two hits and scored two runs while Scurlock had one hit, scored one run and had a two-RBI triple.
Lowery added two hits and scored one run while having one RBI while Petey McCants had a double and one RBI. Hobbs had a double and one RBI as well.
Jacob Bondurant, Lewis and Lowery all pitched in the win with Lowery being the pitcher of record.
The trio went four innings and allowed six runs, four hits, struck out six, walked seven and hit two.
