Sprint Triathlon to be held Saturday, May 3 at Brewton YMCA

The Brewton Local Area Swim Team Tigersharks will host their second Sprint Triathlon on Saturday, May 3. The triathlon will be a swim, bike and a run for anyone ages 4 and up. The triathlon will be in conjunction with YMCA Healthy Kids Day at the Brewton Y.
The fee for the triathlon is $20 for singles or $30 for three-person teams.
In the 4-6 male/female age division, there will be a 25-yard swim, a 1/2-mile bike and a 1/4 mile run.
In the 7-8 male/female age division, there will be a 50-yard swim, a 1-mile bike and a 1/2 mile run.
In the 9-10 male/female age division, there will be a 100-yard swim, a 1 1/2-mile bike and a 1-mile run.
In the 11-12 male/female age division, there will be a 100-yard swim, a 2-mile bike and a 1 1/2 mile run.
In the 13-15 male/female age division, there will be a 150-yard swim, 3-mile bike, and a 2 mile run.
In the 16-20 male/female age division, there will be a 150-yard swim, 3-mile bike, and a 2 ½ mile run.
In the 21-over male/female age division, there will be a 3-mile bike, and a 2 ½ mile run.
Age-group waves will begin at 9 a.m. with the transition area set-up area opening at 7:30-8:30 a.m. and closing at 8:45 a.m. Nice awards for top athletes male and female in each category will be given along with T-shirts for all participants.
