Brewton Nationals rally to edge out EB Royals in seven innings Thursday

The Brewton Nationals team rallied from a 5-1 deficit after three innings Thursday night to down the East Brewton Royals 6-5 in seven innings.
The Royals led the Nationals 1-0 after one inning and 2-1 after two innings. In the third inning, the Royals scored three runs to build a 5-1 lead heading into the fourth inning.
The three runs for the Royals in the third inning would be their final runs of the game as the Nationals added one in the fourth, two in the fourth and one in the sixth inning to tie the game at 5-all after six innings of regulation ball.
In the seventh inning for the Nationals, Drew Reed left off with a single and went to second on a passed ball. After Earl Dolihite walked, Mac Baxter and Landon Qualls both hit in fielder’s choices. Qualls hit scored Reed from third to give the Nationals the one-run win.
For the Nationals at the plate, Logan Bush had one hit while Brandon Coleman added one as well. Reed had one hit while Blake Jernigan added a hit and two RBIs. Dolihite added one hit along with Qualls and Will Reed. Qualls and Will Reed had one RBI each in the win while Jernigan had a double.
Bush and Drew Reed pitched in the win with Reed being the pitcher of record. The Nationals duo went seven innings and allowed five hits, five runs, two earned, walked one and struck out 13.
For the Royals, Sawyer Lewis had two hits and Jennings Hobbs added one along with Caden Nowling and Austin McCall. Nowling had one RBI in the loss.
Hobbs and Lewis pitched in the loss with Lewis being the pitcher of record.
The duo went 6 1/3 innings and allowed seven hits, six runs, four earned, walked nine and struck out 11.
