Mo signs with JDCC SB

T.R. Miller senior softball player Moriah Brundidge signed a softball scholarship Wednesday afternoon to play with Jefferson Davis Community College.
“It feels good to sign a college scholarship,” Brundidge said. “I have always wanted to play softball. I didn’t want to end my season as a senior and I am glad to further along my career. While playing at the college level, I want to have better hitting and be a better pitcher than I am. I also to give better leadership.”
JDCC head coach Misti Nims said she is glad to have Brundidge sign with the Lady Warhawks and looks to having her in the team’s lineup.
“We are excited about getting Moriah,” Nims said. “We have been watching her forever of course. We know her family background as far as them being so athletic. We are just excited that she decided to stay in town. That’s was her decision of whether she wanted to stay around town or go out of town. Once we found out that she was going to stay in town. It kind of just fell in place for us and we were able to get her in. We may pitch her a little, but definitely play her in the outfield. We are strongly looking at that. But ultimately we are looking for some power in the lineup. We are loosing a lot of our power, but she will definitely we a threat on the offensive side.”
T.R. Miller Lady Tiger head coach Greg White said Brundidge’s work in the off-season helped her get to where she is today.
“(Mo) did a great job this off-season,” he said. “I think that this is where she really made the push to do this. She worked very hard in the off-season. As soon as we finished volleyball, she got a softball in her hand. She worked all winter and it has shown this season. We are proud of her for that. That comes back to her making an effort and working hard at it. We are very proud of her. It is a great accomplishment for her and we wish her the best of luck.”
At Wednesday’s ceremony, Brundidge was joined by her parents Eddie and Sybil Brundidge, T.R. Miller softball coaches Greg White and Kim Owens, JDCC softball coach Misti Nims, and T.R. Miller principal Mary Bell.
