Brewton Advanced Babe Ruth sweeps CC; moves to 7-1 this season

The Brewton Advanced Babe Ruth Dawgs played Covington County Tuesday and claimed wins of 1-0 and 10-6. The sweep of CC improved Brewton to 7-1 overall this season.
In game one, Dalton Shell pitched five innings and gave up only three hits and walked three in the shutout victory.
The game was scoreless after four innings, when Mike Williams promptly led off the fifth with a double.
After failing to move the runner over by the next two batters, Shell drew a walk which brought leadoff man Caden Lodge up and he delivered a sharp single to right score Williams for the go ahead run. Williams and Lodge had the only hits in the game.
In game two, Covington County scored six runs in the first on three walks and three hits to put them up big early in the game.
Brewton answered with one run in the second, three in the third, five in the fourth and one in the fifth inning to take a 10-6 lead going into the bottom of the fifth.
Lodge pitched two innings while Sam Frazier pitched the final three giving up no runs and only one hit.
Damion Williams had two hits, Tyler Joyner had two hits, including a two-run double, and Dylan Godwin pitched in with a single for the only hits for Brewton.
