Opp sweeps Brewton’s Advanced Babe Ruth Monday in Opp

Brewton’s Advanced Babe Ruth team suffered a doubleheader sweep Monday night in Opp.
Brewton’s Dawgs lost game one 14-2 and game two 13-6 to fall to 7-3 overall this season. Brewton had 19 walks in the two games.
Tyler Joyner and Dalton Shell pitched the first game giving up 14 runs on 12 hits and nine combined walks in the game. The game was shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Darby Black had both RBIs with a two-hit performance. Damion Williams had a double, while Joyner, and Shell added singles.
In game two, Black, Dalton Simmons and Sam Frazier combined to give up 13 runs on 10 hits and 10 free passes in the 13-6 loss.
Joyner, Black and Williams all doubled and singled in the loss while Caden Lodge had a double, Shell chipped in with two singles, and Simmons added a bunt single.
Brewton will play Friday at T.R. Miller against Covington County, Saturday in a tourney in Goshen, and Monday at T.R. Miller against Opp.
Friday and Monday’s games are scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
