The movies will be rolling every Friday night at Compassion for Brewton Outreach Center, said Pastor Bo Bell this week.

“We saw a great need in Brewton for healthy recreational activities for our youth on Friday nights,” Bell said. “The reality is our children are

becoming bored and creating alternative plans that lack adult supervision and often lead to adverse consequences.”

Bell’s solution – movie night. For a $3 admission, one can view a movie on three large screens and a host of other pre-movie activities such as pool, foosball, air hockey and more. A concession stand will offer food and drink, he said.

“And we have a coffee shop with wi-fi hookups,” he said.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the movie beginning at 7 p.m. Seating is available for 650. This Friday’s movie is “God Is Not Dead.”

“We strive to make this a safe environment conducive for the growth of our youth,” Bell said. “We’ll have a volunteer off-duty police presence, a security team, as well as parking lot workers tending to the parking lots. Of course, no drugs or alcohol is tolerated on the premises.”

Bell said proceeds for the movie nights will go for community outreach projects. First on the list is a house makeover for a near-by neighbor.

“This is a project where everybody wins,” Bell said. “We keep the kids off the streets and the money raised goes to benefit the community. It’s all about hope, rebuilding lives and strengthening our community. Together, we can make a difference.”
