What I wanted to learn today (BES Kindergarteners speak)

Published 4:44 pm Tuesday, August 19, 2014

Some cried, while some smiled Monday morning as over 80 kindergarten students, the class of 2027, began their school year at Brewton Elementary School.
Kindergarten students met their teachers and saw their classrooms for a short time before gathering together as a class to watch the movie Frozen while parents and guardians met with their teachers.
While all will soon be busy learning their numbers, letters, colors and shapes, some spoke of things that they wanted to learn while in kindergarten this 2014-15 school year.
Evan Anthony said he wanted to learn more about animals while he is in kindergarten this year while Molly Till said she wanted to play on the playground.
Casey Madison said he wanted to play games and learn in the new school.
Kensley Holt joined in with Till as she also said she wanted to play on the playground, while Maleah Lovelace said she wanted to paint.
Lindsey Jennings said she wants to learn about insects while in kindergarten.
Will Clark just plainly said he wanted to learn about letters because he can’t read yet.
Brewton Elementary School kindergarten teachers are: Courtney McBride, Marilyn Bradley, Shari Robinson, and Vicki Williamson.
The student’s first day in the classrooms was Tuesday.
