Elsie Lou Ellen Stanford Cain, 73, of McGougin Road, in Brewton, passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 23, 2014, in a local nursing facility after an extended illness.

Funeral services were held on Tues., Aug. 26, at 10 a.m., at Craver’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Peavy officiating.  Interment followed in Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenox with Craver’s Funeral Home Inc. of Brewton directing.

She was a native of Repton, Alabama and former resident of East Brewton before moving to Brewton in 1980. She was a retired CNA with D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital after 39 ½ years of service and was a member of the Appleton Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include two son, David (Carla) Cain of Milton, Fla., and Donald (Linda) Cain of East Brewton; daughter, Kathy (Lavon) Minuard of Castleberry; four brothers, Buddy (Melba) Stanford of Lenox, Floyd (Janie) Stanford of Lenox, Stevie Stanford of Saraland and Doug Stanford of Lenox; three sisters, Voncile Thomas of Lenox, Idell (Bob) Richerson of Lenox and Debra (Buddy) Lee of Century, Fla.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a numerous other relatives and friends.

CALLIE MAE LEE

Flomaton

 

Callie Mae Lee, 68, of Flomaton, passed away Fri., Sept. 5, 2014, in a Century, Fla., nursing facility.

Funeral services were held on Mon., Sept. 8, at 10 a.m., from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Byrnes Pitts officiating and interment following in Pollard Cemetery.

She was born in Brewton and was a lifetime resident of Escambia County. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Brewton Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 41 years, Glenn Lee of Flomaton; three sons, Larry Dwayne Lee, Shane Glenn (Renee) Lee of Flomaton and William Randy (Tone) Lee of Brewton; two brothers, Thomas Byrd of Flomaton and Robert Byrd of Mobile, AL; and 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jeff Alexandria, Mark Greenwell, Tim Ward, Ray Lee, Rodney Stuart, and Don Bondurant.

LOWELL WILLIAM BARTLETT

Repton

 

Lowell William Bartlett, 55, of Calloway Street, Repton, passed away Fri., Aug. 22, 2014, at a Mobile hospital.

Graveside services were held on Wed., Sept. 3, at 10 a.m., at Springhill Cemetery in Lenox with Brother Buddy Stanford officiating and Craver’s Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

He was native and lifelong resident of Conecuh County and was employed with Fireman Pest Control. He was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his parents, John William and Julia Mae Bartlett of Repton; two daughters, Latricia (Johnny) Daw of Castleberry and Heather Nicole Bartlett of Monroeville; five brothers, Johnny Mack (Darlene) Bartlett of Sandcut, Kenneth Joe (Lisa) Bartlett of Repton, Billy Wayne (Debbie) Bartlett of Repton, Rayvon (Lisa) Bartlett of Lenox and Travis (Bobby Joe) Bartlett of Brewton; sisters, Ann (Wesley) Corey of Excel, Jackie (Steve) McDonald of Lenox and Julia Aline (Glen) Holley of Evergreen; and two grandchildren, Chad Dylan Daw and John Colton Daw.

MICKEY LEE MILLER

Brewton

 

Mickey Lee Miller, 49, of Hwy. 41, Brewton, passed away Thurs., Sept. 4, 2014, in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held on Sun., Sept. 7, at 3 p.m., at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Russ McDonald officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

He was a native and life long resident of Brewton and of the Baptist faith. He attended W.S. Neal High School, enjoyed driving dirt track cars, and was owner/operator of Miller Logging.

Survivors include his mother, Patricia Searcy Miller of Brewton; wife, Charlene Ferrell Miller of Brewton; and son, Jeremy Lee Miller of Brewton.

He was preceded in death by his father, A.C. “Pete” Miller, and brother, Anthony Charles “Hank” Miller.

LILLIE PEARL BRAZILE

Brewton

 

Lillie Pearl Brazile, a resident at 190 Brazile Lane, Brewton, passed on Aug. 30, 2014, after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held on Sat., Sept. 6, at 11 a.m., at Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Brewton with Minister Bruce Brown officiating. Interment followed in the Second Bethlehem Cemetery in the Boykin Community of Brewton. Presley Fluker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

She attended the Conecuh and Escambia County school systems.

Early in life, she united with Second St. Siloam M.B.C. Later, she was united in marriage with the late Arthur B. Brazile and moved to Pensacola, Fla. Eight children were born to this union. They later moved to Brewton and joined Mt. Calvary M.B.C., where she was a member of the charitable aid association and the choir. She served faithfully until her health failed.

She was employed with Alatex in Andalusia for numerous years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur B. Brazile; son, Christopher Brazile; God son, Floyd Brazile; sister, Betty James; and two brothers, U.L. Oliver and Sonny James.

She leaves to cherish her memories seven children, Arthur (JoAnn) Brazile, William (Etta) Brazile, Phyllis (Calton) King, LaJoyce Brazile, Robert Brazile, Cynthia Brazile and Michael (Robin) Brazile, all of Brewton; four sisters, Glady Samuel, Ella V. Cathron, both of Brewton, Catherine Jackson of Sacramento, Calif., and Marjorie (Benny) Lennell of Nahbury, New Jersey; five brothers, Pastor Ecclesiastes (Inez) Oliver of Omaha, Neb., Charles McGlown of Brewton, Joe (Eleanor) James of Houston, Lindsey (Joyce) James of Newark, New Jersey, and Greg (Unis) James of California; two sisters-in-law, Mammie Floyd of Brewton and Mary (Herman) Thompson of California; one brother-in-law, Will Brazie of California; one God daughter, Mary (Ray) Culliver; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

 

 

MAZIE LEE ROLIN

Brewton

 

Mazie Lee Rolin, 90, of Brewton, passed away Fri., Sept. 5, 2014, in Pensacola, Fla.

Funeral services were held on Mon. Sept, 8, at 2 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore with Brother Rob Arant officiating. Interment followed in Poarch Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was a homemaker, born in Atmore on Sept. 6, 1923, to the late Dewitt and Olivia Dewise McCoy. She was a Charter Member of Poarch Baptist Church, a former member of the Escambia County Alabama Baptist Association, and a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Rolin and two daughters, Daisy Rolin and Rosemary Presley.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Angie Rolin (Jack “Whiddon” Taylor of Brewton; great-grandson, Brandon Rolin Taylor of Brewton; and step-great-grandchildren, Jack Taylor III of Irvington and Patricia Taylor of Honolulu, Hawaii.

Active pallbearers were Jack Taylor III, Seron Samuels, Etham Berry, Tyrell Powe, Derek Busby and Parke Dubose.

Honorary pallbearers were Garvis Sells, Michael Sawyer and Austin Abon.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
