Coming off a 34-23 region win over Bayside Academy Friday night on the road, T.R. Miller returns home this week for another region game against Cottage Hill.
The Warriors of CHCA come into the game with a 1-1 record. CH lost to Geneva 33-6 Friday night.
T.R. Miller owns a 4-0 record all-time against CHCA after winning last year 47-0. T.R. Miller has outscored Cottage Hill 196-43 in those four games.
Tiger head coach Jamie Riggs said this year’s CHCA team is improved.
“They are improve and are bigger than they have been,” Riggs said. “They have a few new players and are skilled at the wide receiver spot. The biggest thing I see is they are a stronger team. They are more physically and more tougher than they have been in the past. I just think they are a lot better than teams in the past.”
Riggs said Cottage Hill is led by quarterback, No. 14, Cole Butler.
“They can throw and catch,” Riggs said. “Their receivers do a good job of getting to the ball. They are all a lot more aggressive.”
Riggs said he thinks Cottage Hill will cause some teams some problems later in the season.
“They are starting to take the right steps and they are doing it one a time,” Riggs said. “By the end of the year, I see them challenging a lot more teams. It all depends on their depth. They have some younger skill guys. They will be better towards the end of the year.”
Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Brewton.
