Escambia County volleyball tourney is Saturday at JDCC

The 2014 Escambia County volleyball tournament will be held this Saturday, Sept. 20 at Jefferson Davis Community College with Flomaton being the host school.
The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball team will put their Escambia County volleyball nine-year winning streak on the line as the tournament will kickoff at 9 a.m. in Brewton.
TRM has won the tournament every year since it began back in 2005.
Flomaton and W.S. Neal will begin play at 9 a.m. and will be followed by TRM and Escambia County at 10 a.m.
Miller will then play FHS at 11 a.m. followed by WSN against Escambia County at noon.
At 1 p.m. p.m., FHS will play Escambia County and at 2 p.m., Miller and Neal will finish the tournament.
All matches in the tournament will be best two-of-three. If the match goes to a third set, the game will be played to 15. The tiebreaker will be determined by points allowed then points earned
The Lady Tigers won their ninth straight championship last year in Brewton as the tournament was played at JDCC for the second time.
Miller went 3-0 to claim the title. Flomaton finished in second place with a 2-1 record followed by Escambia County of Atmore in third place with a 1-2 record. W.S. Neal finished in fourth place with an 0-3 record.
A trophy will be presented to the first place team Saturday and concessions will be provided by the JDCC volleyball team.
