TRM XC to host over 400 runners Saturday at BMS

Over 400 runners on 21 different teams will ascend on the campus of Brewton Middle School Saturday as T.R. Miller’s cross country team will host a meet Saturday morning at the school.
The meet will begin at 8 a.m. with a coach’s meeting and the national anthem will be at 8:15 a.m.
At 8:30 a.m., the varsity girls will run a 5K while the varsity boys will run at 9:15 a.m.
A JV girls two-mile run will take place at 9:45 a.m. and the boys will follow at 10:15 a.m.
Admission to the race is $5 per vehicle.
Trophies will be awarded to the first and second place teams in the varsity races. A first place trophy will be awarded to the JV division winners.
The top-10 varsity runners in each division will receive dri-fit t-shirts.
BMS is located at 1384 Old Castleberry Road on Highway 31 North.
The course at BMS is said to be the best course in the state to watch an entire race with fans being able to see the runners for over 90 percent of the race.

T.R. Miller’s cross country teams joined a host of runners Saturday at the Gulf Coast Stampede at the Escambia Equestrian Center in Pensacola.
T.R. Miller’s girls came in 28th place out of 27 teams while the boys took 39th out of 42 teams.

• Allie Nelson: 20:212
• Tarah Townsend: 23:21
• Kelsi Lum: 24:53
• Peyton Baxter: 25:29
• Sarah Byrd: 25:35
Also running for the Lady Tigers was: Carmen Knowles with a time of 26:06 and Madison Lum with a time of 27:32.
Boys top 5 runners:
• Travis Carlson: 19:45
• Micah Flores: 20:30
• Noah Morris: 21:18
• Walker Harris: 21:39
• Tucker McDaniel: 21:57
Also running for the Tigers was: Tanner McDaniel with a time of 22:13.
In the JV boys race, Noah Winton ran a time of 22:56; Rider Jernigan with a time of 25:37; Sam Terry with a time of 26:39; and Gavin McNeil with a time of 30:59.
In the JV girls race, Breann Huff ran a time of 26:03; Abigail Cave with a time of 27:51; Ora Nelson with a time of 28:40; Tess Thomas with a time of 30:22; and Sarah Grace Gerety with a time of 31:49.
