On Mon., Oct. 6, countries across the globe will celebrate World Habitat Day.
So why is this important to Brewton?
Because it’s a great opportunity to support a worthy organization on the local front, said Escambia County’s executive director Alecia Glaize.
“World Habitat Day is the one day set aside annually to recognize the basic right of all humanity to adequate shelter, and to encourage grassroots action toward ending poverty housing,” Glaize said.
“On that Monday, as in past years, Habitat joins with our partners around the world to rededicate ourselves to a world where everyone has a decent place to live,” she said. “You can show your support by shopping at the local ReStore, located on Douglas Avenue, or by visiting escambiahfh.org and donating.”
