From staff reports

In a postponed game from earlier in the year due to a scheduling conflict, the W.S. Neal varsity volleyball team traveled to Jay Monday night and came away with a split.
Playing a doubleheader against the Lady Royals, WSN lost game one 2-0 (20-25 and 13-25) while claiming a 2-0 win in game two (25-17 and 25-20).
The split saw WSN’s record go to 13-10 overall.
In game one, Tykeria Nolan had seven service winners and four aces while Donnavia Williams had five service winners.
In the second game, Nolan had seven service winners and three aces while Jodi Busby had five service winners, one ace, and seven kills.
Dinah Samuel chipped in four service winners, one ace, and seven kills while Haleigh Dubose had five service winners, three aces, and one kill.
WSN head coach Jason Blaney said that his team came out very strong in the first game against a very talented and strong Jay team, but his team’s service errors cost them in the win.
“We had nine service errors,” Blaney said. “I was very proud though in how the girls stepped up in the second game. We did everything better, from our service game to our receiving and passing which led us to a much better attack game. I was proud of the effort and how they fought.”
