Both T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal’s volleyball teams will play in their respective area tournaments next week.
T.R. Miller, who finished 3-0 and won their regular season area title, will host the class 3A, area 2 tournament Monday in Brewton.
Opp and Hillcrest will begin play at 2 p.m. with the winner playing T.R. Miller at 3:30 p.m. for the area championship.
For W.S. Neal, the Lady Eagles went 0-3 in class 4A, area 1 play, and took the No. 3 seed. They will play Satsuma at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21. The winner gets UMS-Wright at 6 p.m.
The area winner and the area runner-up will both advance to the regional tournament.
At the super regionals, on Fri. Oct. 24, games will be played at the Multiplex at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
Class 3A, area 2 will meet up with area 8. The area 8 winner will play the area 2 runner-up at 3 p.m. while the area 2 winner will meet the area 8 runner-up at 5:30 p.m. The area 8 area tournament will be played at Oakman and will consist of Fultondale and Midfield.
Class 4A, area 1 will meet up with area 7. The area 7 winner will play the area 1 runner-up at 3 p.m. while the area 1 winner will meet the area 7 runner-up at 5:30 p.m. The area 7 area tournament will be played at Montevallo and will consist of Holy Family, West Blocton, and Oak Grove.
