Basketball teams to play in Thanksgiving tournaments

T.R. Miller’s Lady Tigers basketball team will kick off its upcoming season with play in the 2014 Chick-Fil-A Classic Thanksgiving girls basketball tournament at Choctawhatchee High School in Florida. The tournament will be Nov. 24-26.
TRM will begin play on Mon., Nov. 24, at 6 p.m. against Rocky Bayou. With a win, TRM will play Tues., Nov. 25, at 5:30 p.m. against the Daphne/Walton High winner from Monday.
With a loss, TRM would get the loser at 2:30 p.m.
With a win on Tuesday in the winner’s bracket game, TRM would play for the championship on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
With a loss on Tuesday in the winner’s bracket game, TRM would play for third or fourth place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
With a win on Tuesday in the loser’s bracket game, TRM would play for fifth or sixth place at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
With a loss on Tuesday in the loser’s bracket game, TRM would play for seventh or eighth place at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Along with TRM in the tournament, other teams are Rocky Bayou, Daphne, Walton High, Grundy County of Tennessee, Crestview, Choctawhatchee and Navarre.
WSN to play in Georgiana
Both the W.S. Neal girls and boys basketball teams will take part in Georgiana basketball’s 2014 Thanksgiving clash. The tournament will be played Tues., Nov. 25 and Wed., Nov. 26.
The WSN girls will be joined in the tournament by Georgiana, Highland Home, and Southside-Selma while the boys will be joined by Georgiana, Highland Home, and Goshen.
In girl’s action, Georgiana and Highland Home will play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday while Southside-Selma and WSN will play at 3:30 p.m.
The winners from Tuesday’s games will play for the championship Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. while the losers will meet in a consolation game at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
In boy’s action, Georgiana and Highland Home will meet at 8 p.m. on Tuesday while Goshen and WSN will tangle at 5 p.m.
The two winners will meet Wednesday at 5 p.m. while the losers will meet in their consolation game at 2 p.m.
