WSN girls and boys go 1-1 in Georgiana

Playing in the Georgiana Thanksgiving Tournament Tuesday and Wednesday, both the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles and the varsity boys went 1-1.
With the 1-1 record for the Lady Eagles, WSN improved to 2-2 overall while the boys fell also improve to 2-2.
In the girl’s games, WSN defeated Southside-Selma 60-34 in their first game of the tournament before falling to Highland Home 57-21.
In the boy’s games, WSN lost to Goshen 85-83 before defeating Highland Home 56-27.
WSN Lady Eagles 60, SS 34
Against Southside-Selma, WSN’s Lady Eagles won 60-34.
WSN led 12-11 after one quarter of play and 27-19 after holding a 15-9 advantage in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, the Lady Eagles held a 16-10 advantage to grab a 43-29 lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, WSN ended thee game on a 17-5 run to get the win by 26 points.
KeKe Floyd led with 24 points, eight rebounds and eight steals while Marisha Fraser had 18 points, three rebounds and six steals. MiMi Lawson added 12 points and three steals while Alexis Morris had four points, five rebounds and three steals.
Anija Stewart chipped in two points and one steal.
Highland Home 57,
WSN Lady Eagles 21

Against Highland Home, WSN took a 57-21 loss.
Floyd led with 13 points while Fraser had four, and Jashira Dees and Taylor Burns both had two points each.
WSN trailed 7-6 after one quarter and 29-8 at the half after HH erupted for a 22-2 scoring advantage in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, the Lady Eagles were outscored 12-7. In the fourth, HH held a 16-6 advantage to get the win by 36 points.
Goshen 85, WSN boys 83
In a shootout, WSN’s boys took an 85-83 loss to Goshen in their tournament opener.
Tyshawn Davis led with 29 points and six rebounds while DJ Hodges added 21 points and four rebounds. Treylon Watson had 13 points, one rebound and five steals.
Malcolm Hawthorne chipped in 11 points and two steals while Troy Lewis had five points and one steal.
Jacobey Hawthore added two points and two rebounds while Dalton Shell had two points and two rebounds.
WSN boys 56,
Highland Home 27

Against Highland Home, WSN came away with a 56-27 win.
Hodges, who had the all-tournament teams, led with 25 points and six rebounds while Davis had 19 points and five rebounds. Davis also had two steals.
Watson added five points, four rebounds, three steals and three assists. Malcolm Hawthorne had three points, four rebounds, one steal and five assists.
Shell chipped in two points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists while Geo Little had two points.
