WSNMS basketball drops home game with Jay Wednesday

In their next to last game of the season Wednesday against Jay, both the W.S. Neal Middle School girls and boys basketball teams took home losses to the Royals.
The Lady Eagles remained winless this season as they fell to 0-7 overall with a 24-12 loss.
In boy’s action, Jay made a shot at the buzzer to defeat WSNMS 30-29. The loss dropped the Eagles of East Brewton to 4-3 overall this season.

Jay 24, WSNMS girls 12
The Lady Eagles of WSNMS were doubled up by Jay Wednesday at home as they took a 24-12 loss.
Jay led WSNMS 6-0 after one quarter and 8-2 at the half. In the third quarter, WSNMS was outscored 8-4 to trail 16-6 heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, WSNMS was outscored 8-6 to take the loss by 12 points.
Raven Woods led with six points in the loss while Tori Gillam, Alyssa Askew and Camille Smith all had two points each.

Jay 30, WSNMS boys 29
Leading 23-21 heading into the fourth quarter, WSNMS was outscored 9-6 in the final quarter as Jay hit a buzzer beater to win by one point, 30-29.
Jay led 11-6 after one quarter and 17-16 at the half. WSNMS took a 23-21 heading into the fourth quarter before falling by one point.
Taylor Fountain led with eight points in the loss while Jordan Hails had seven points. Ricky Samuel finished with six points and Matthew Thomas had four points. Dylan Ingram chipped in three points and Mateo Smith had one point in the loss.
