D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital has collaborated with Enroll Alabama to bring HealthCare Marketplace navigators to Brewton. Hospital officials urge everyone to get enrolled in a health insurance program.
“Starting in 2015, the government will assess a financial penalty to those without health insurance,” said Rick Owens, hospital chief financial officer. “We want everyone to have the opportunity to sign up to avoid those fees.”
To learn more about opportunities to receive discounted health insurance, Enroll Alabama will be hosting six educational and enrollment events in Brewton beginning Jan. 7, 2015. Navigators Ashley Hines and Cynthia Lee will be at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital helping individuals with their insurance needs. Enrollment dates are as follows from 9 a.m. until noon unless otherwise noted:
• Jan. 7;
• Jan. 14;
• Jan. 21;
• Jan. 28;
• Feb. 4, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.; and,
• Feb. 11, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
