JDCC Warhawks use big second half run to defeat MMI

In their first game in a month Tuesday night at home against Marion Military, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team picked up a 69-59 win. The win improved the Warhawks to 2-6 overall this season.
JDCC led 31-20 after one half of play, but was outscored 39-38 in the second half, but took the win by 10 points.
“We ended the game on a 16-5 run to win 69-59,” JDCC head coach Allen Gainer said. “Keenan Williams and Tyquan Bonner had outstanding games for us.”
Williams finished with 29 points for the Warhawks while Bonner added 11 points. Bonner led with seven assists and two steals in the game.
JDCC’s Brandon Davis finished with a double-double in the win. Davis had 10 rebounds (three on offense and seven on defense) and finished with 17 points and four blocks.
Fletcher Forte had nine points for JDCC. Jerry Aaron added three points for the Warhawks.
JDCC was 24-for-48 from the field shooting for 50 percent and was 14-for-22 from the free throw line. The Warhawks shot 46.7 percent from the 3-point arch (7-for-15).
