Brewton couple arrested for Texas thefts

A Brewton couple was arrested earlier this month for felony theft charges out of Texas.

Sheriff Grover Smith, in a press release, said deputies and investigators with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home of Richard and Amber Waldrop on Evans Drive to assist officers with the

state probation and parole office.

Grover said those officers were in possession of felony warrants for the couple following allegations they stole a number of items from the Lone Star state.

Mr. Waldrop is a probationer for felony conviction in Florida, Smith said.

handheld tracking device and 38 Soma prescription tables during a probation search of the home.

Both subjects were housed at the Escambia County Detention Center before being extradited to Waco, Texas.
