TRM Tigers fall to Georgiana

Both T.R. Miller’s B-team and varsity boys basketball teams took home losses Tuesday night to Georgiana.
In B-team action, TRM lost 44-33 to drop to 5-11 overall with their third straight loss. In varsity action, TRM lost to the No. 3-ranked team in class 1A by a score of 78-62 to fall to 14-8 overall.
No stats, scorers or game information from the girl’s game was known as of press time. With a win for the Lady Tigers, TRM moved to 15-10. With a loss, TRM fell to 14-11.

Georgiana 44, TRM B-team 33
TRM’s B-team suffered their third straight loss Tuesday at home as Georgiana handed the Tigers an 11-point loss by a score of 44-33.
The Panthers of Georgiana led TRM 15-7 after one quarter and 27-21 at the half. In the third quarter, Georgiana outscored TRM 13-8 to increase their lead to 40-29 heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, both teams scored four points each.
Joshua Jolly led TRM in the loss with 11 points while Jeremy Purdie had seven points. Stokes Jennings had five points, Michael Campbell had four, Hayden Atkinson had four, and Darius Williams had two.

Georgiana 78, TRM varsity 62
Georgiana erupted for 28 points in the second quarter to propel them to a 78-62 win over TRM’s Tigers Tuesday night in Brewton.
After a 12-all tie after one quarter of play, the Panthers outscored TRM 28-14 in the second quarter to claim a 40-26 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, TRM edged out Georgiana 18-16 to cut the lead to 56-44 heading into the fourth. In the fourth, Georgiana ended the game on a 22-18 run to get the big win.
Chardian Johnson led the Tigers of TRM with 24 points and was joined in double figures by Trae Walker’s 13 points and Kelly Winn and Ahmaud Taylor’s 10 points. Tamerick Jenkins added five points in the loss.
