Eugene Alexander Maness Jr.
Flomaton

Eugene Alexander Maness Jr., 91, of Flomaton, went to be with the Lord on Tues., Jan. 27, 2015, at his home.
He was born June 7, 1923, to the late Eugene A. Maness Sr. and Nettie Harger Maness. He was a native of Zama, Miss.
In 1943, he served three years in the United States Army during World War II in Italy and Africa.
In 1946 he went to work for Alger Sullivan as a timber cruiser and later was promoted to general superintendent of the company.
In 1967, Alger Sullivan Company was sold to Jim Walter Doors. He served on as general superintendent with a total of 29 years service in the company.
He married Margie Simpson on Sept. 3, 1948. They were members of the Flomaton Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as Sunday school superintendent and deacon for many years.
He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed woodworking and making swings was a specialty of his.
He also made small crosses that he passed out to friends and people as a testimony. Each cross was different in some way.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margie Maness; daughter, Judy Maness (Charles J.) Strait, all of Flomaton; brother, Jimmy L. (Jackie) Maness of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby M. Jackson of Mobile.
Funeral services were held on Fri., Jan. 30, at Flomaton Pentecostal Holiness Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Leon Stewart and the Rev. Al Bethea officiating.
Interment followed in Rock Cemetery in Flomaton.
Pallbearers were Johnny Allen, Gary Holt, Paul Knowles, Rabon Knowles, Wayne Johnson, and John Sansom.
Honorary pallbearers were Sammy White, Robert Holt and Gerry Thompson.

Annie Eliza
Dexter-Stallworth

Conecuh County

Annie Eliza Dexter-Stallworth was one of nine children born to the late Jessie and Lode Dexter on November 15, 1949 in Conecuh County.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Second Marietta Missionary Baptist Church in Castleberry.
She later regularly attended Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Brewton.
She was suddenly called to eternal rest on Fri., Jan. 23, 2015, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. after a brief illness.
She was united in holy matrimony with the late Albert Stallworth.
Her greatest joy and pleasure were her children whom she showered with love and affection.
Her memories and love will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of Robert Nettles, Marilyn (Reginald) Hoyett, Reginald (Tasha) Nettles, Tracey (Jerry) Cook, LaShawn (Ingria) Stallworth, Heather Stallworth and Delvin (Cecil) Stallworth.
Her love ran deep for her children, but it ran even deeper for grandchildren. Affectionately known as “Granny,” she leaves a legacy of 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her memories will also be cherished by her siblings, Sammy (Peggy) Brown, Bernice (John) Oliver, Thelma (Bobby) Davis, Virginia Dexter, Jessie Lee (Rosie) Dexter, Judy Dexter, and Luvenia Dexter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Her favorite pastime was fishing and gardening. She also enjoyed reading and walks at Jefferson Davis’ park.

‘Jon-Boy’ Wilson

Brewton

Jonathan Ray “Jon-Boy” Wilson, 19, of Brewton, passed away Saturday night, Jan. 31, 2015, in Century, Fla.
He was a native and life long resident of Brewton.
He is survived by his father, Bobbie (Robin) Wilson of East Brewton; mother, Allison Johnson (Brandon) Nelson; one sister, Kristalyn Hutcheson; maternal grandmother, Judy Johnson, all of Brewton; and paternal grandmother, Cathy Sue (Lou Como) Blackwell of Castleberry.
Visitation will be Thursday night, Feb. 5, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton.
Funeral services will be held Fri. Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Hogg officiating and interment following in Pineview Cemetery in Pineview Community. Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton is directing.

Dr. Ronald Wickham Peters, DMD
Brewton

Dr. Ronald Wickham Peters, DMD, of Briarcliff Road Brewton, passed away Sun., Feb. 1, 2015, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was a native of Ashland, Va., and a former resident of Birmingham, before moving to Brewton, in 1966.
He attended St. Clair County High School, The University of Alabama, and graduated dental school at UAB.
He was of the Presbyterian faith, a member of the Alabama and American Dental Association, NRA, US Table Tennis Association, and a former member of the Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Woehle Peters of Brewton; two sons, Mark Peters of Opelika and Robert Peters of Stillwater, Okla.; three daughters, Jean Freeman of Brewton, Ellen Gray of Bay Minette, and Sherry Kern of Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers, David Peters of Oregon and Frank Peters of Odenville; and 12 grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date and time.
