JDCC softball starts season 0-2

The 2015 Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks softball team began their season Tuesday at home against Central Alabama Community College and suffered two losses to start the season 0-2.
In the doubleheader, JDCC lost game on 6-2 before taking a 12-2 loss in game two to suffer the sweep.
“Overall performance went well for first games of the year,” JDCC head coach Misti Nims said. “The team has been working very hard and it showed. We may not have had the outcome that we wanted, but the team understands that this is just the beginning and we will continue the process of paying attention to details and working to get better everyday.”
In game one, CACC held JDCC to one run in the second inning and one in the fifth while getting two runs each in the second, fifth and sixth innings.
Kaitlin Hadaway took the loss in the circle for the Lady Warhawks as she went the complete game seven innings and allowed 11 hits, six runs, four earned, walked six and struck out four. Hadaway hit one batter in the loss.
Paige Wooley went 2-for-4 at the plate for JDCC and had one RBI while Hannah Brake went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Moriah Trujillo also went 1-for-2 at the plate.
In game two, JDCC took an early 2-0 lead after two innings before falling to 12 unanswered runs by CACC over the span of the next four innings. CACC scored seven runs in the sixth inning to put the game away.
Brake took the pitching loss as she went six innings and allowed 16 hits, 12 runs, six earned, walked three and struck out two.
For the Lady Warhawks at the plate, Caitlyn Hagan went 1-for-3 while Caroline Clark went 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs.
Jordan Swindle, Alicia Richardson and Audrey Hamric all went 1-for-3 in the loss.
JDCC made three errors in the loss.
