JDCC baseball swept in Mississippi Saturday

After alternating wins and losses in their first two games of the season to start the season 2-2, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team suffered a sweep at the hands of Jones County Junior College Saturday in Mississippi.
In game one, JDCC lost 8-1. In game two, JDCC lost 4-1 to see their record fall to 2-4 overall this season.

Game one: Jones 8, JDCC 1
In game one, JDCC was held to one run while Jones plated eight to get an 8-1 win over the Warhawks.
JDCC’s lone run came in the fifth inning while Jones scored one run in the second, three in the third, one in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh to get the seven-run win.
At the plate for the Warhawks, Brandon Goins went 1-for-4 with a double while Brandon Davis went 2-for-4 with a double. Dake Rivers, Brandon Bilek and Gregory Ciangiatto all had one hit each. Ciangiatto had one RBI in the loss.
On the mound, Riley Hodge, Tyler Joyner and Chase Laney all pitched with Joyner taking the loss.
The trio went eight innings and allowed 11 hits, eight runs, six earned, walked two, struck out six and hit two batters.
JDCC made three errors in the loss while Jones made two.

Game two: Jones 4, JDCC 1
In game two, Jones once again held the Warhawks to one run while getting two each in the first and third innings to grab a 4-1 win.
Riley Stokes went 2-for-3 at the plate while Goins and Alec Talley had one hit each. John-Mark Cosby had one RBI in the loss.
Taylor Baynes and Garrett Davis pitched in the loss with Baynes being the pitcher of record.
The duo went six innings and allowed seven hits, four runs, four earned, walked two, struck out four and hit two batters.
