JDCC baseball doubles up SHC in game one Monday

Playing a home doubleheader Monday against Spring Hill College, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks baseball team claimed a 4-2 win in game one.
In the game one win Monday, JDCC used a 3-run first inning to aid them in the win. Leading SHC 3-0 after one inning, the Warhawks took the three-run lead into the fourth inning before SHC cut the lead to 3-2 in the top half of the inning.
In the bottom of the inning, JDCC added one run of their own to take a 4-2 lead and held SHC scoreless the remainder of the game to get the win.
At the plate for JDCC, John-Mark Cosby went 2-for-2 while Craig Headley was 1-for-1 with a double.
Brandon Davis, Dake Rivers, Gregory Ciangiatto and Chad Simmons all had one hit each in the win for the Warhawks. Davis and Taylor Bayne had one RBI each.
On the mound for JDCC, Matt Gillis, Nick Helton and Chase Laney all pitched.
The trio combined to go seven innings and allowed five hits, two earned runs, walked one and struck out six in the win.
Game information and stats from the second game of the day was not known as of press time.
JDCC improved to 4-7 overall with the two-run win.
