WSN softball starts season with 11-0 loss at Jay Friday

Jay used a six-run second inning to aid them in an 11-0 win over W.S. Neal’s softball team in five innings Friday night in Jay. The loss for the Lady Eagles in their season opener started them with an 0-1 record.
Jay led WSN 1-0 after one inning before erupting for six runs in the second inning to take a 7-0 lead. Jay added four more runs in the third inning and held WSN scoreless to get the 11-run mercy rule win.
WSN was held to three hits in the loss and made four errors.
Karissa Johnson led the Lady Eagles with a double as she went 1-for-2 in the loss. Haleigh Dubose and Erin Hartsel both went 1-for-2 in the loss as well.
In the pitching circle, Dubose took the loss as she went four innings and allowed nine hits, 11 runs, six earned, walked five and struck out four.
