TRM baseball moves to 2-0 with another mercy rule win

T.R. Miller’s baseball team moved to 2-0 overall this season and to 2-0 in the Escambia County Tournament Thursday night as they picked up their second 10-run mercy rule win with a 16-2 win over Flomaton. TRM took down ECHS of Atmore 12-1 Tuesday night.
The Tigers held Flomaton to one run each in the first and second innings while getting six of their own in the first, nine in the second and added one more in the third to get the win by 14 runs.
On the mound, JoJo Booker, Drew Williamson and Russell Smith teamed up for a three-hitter as Booker went the first three innings on the mound to get the win.
Booker allowed no hits, two runs, walked and struck out five. Williamson went one inning and allowed two hits and struck out one. Smith went the final inning and allowed one hit and struck out one.
At the plate for the Tigers of TRM, Jones Manning had two singles and two RBIs while Williamson had a single and one RBI.
Hunter Brittain added a triple and a single and two RBIs while Chris Jones had two singles and one RBI.
Booker finished with a single while Tim McDonald had three singles and two RBIs. Jason Konsler had a two-run double in the second inning and Caleb Winton had two singles in the win.
TRM won the tournament last year at home.
