JDCC baseball goes 2-2 against FSCC Friday and Saturday

In their first conference games of the season Friday and Saturday against Faulkner State, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks baseball team went 2-2 to move to 7-11 overall.
Playing at FSCC Friday in Bay Minette, JDCC lost game one 9-0, but claimed a 13-7 win in game two.
Playing in Brewton Saturday, JDCC won game one 5-0 before losing game two 5-4.

Game one Friday: FSCC 9, JDCC 0
In game one Friday, FSCC blanked JDCC 9-0.
JDCC was held to only four hits with Brandon Goins and Craig Headley having one hit each while John-Mark Cosby had two hits. Goins and Headley had a double each in the loss.
Taylor Baynes, Garrett Davis, and Ryan Gauci all pitched in the loss with Baynes being the pitcher of record.
The trio combined to go six innings and allowed 10 hits, nine runs, eight earned, walked six, struck out two and hit three batters.

Game two Friday: JDCC 13, FSCC 7
After blowing a 5-0 lead after one inning and a 7-4 after the top of the sixth inning, JDCC scored six runs in the extra frame of the eighth inning to defeat the Sun Chiefs 13-7 in the second game of the day Friday.
Dylan Johnson, Nick Helton and Matthew Gillis all pitched in the win with Helton getting the win.
The trio combined to go eight innings and allowed seven hits, seven runs, five earned, walked four, struck out five and hit three batters.
At the plate, Riley Stokes and Cosby led with two doubles each while Alec Talley also had a double.
Stokes had four RBIs while Cosby had two. Goins, Caden Lodge, Dake Rivers and Brandon Davis all had one RBI each. Talley, Goins, Lodge and Rivers all had one hit each while Stokes had two, Cosby had three and Davis had two.

Game one Saturday: JDCC 5, FSCC 0
Meeting each other on Saturday in Brewton, JDCC picked up their second straight win with a 5-0 win over the Sun Chiefs.
Riley Hodge was the winning pitcher for JDCC and was joined on the mound by Nick Boswell.
Hodge and Boswell teamed up to go nine innings and allowed eight hits, no runs, walked one and struck out three while hitting two batters.
At the plate, Goins and Cosby had a double each. Greg Ciangiotto and Goins had one RBI each while Rivers had two.
Stokes, Talley, Rivers and Davis all had one hit each while Goins and Cosby had two each.

Game two Saturday: FSCC 5, JDCC 4
In the final game of the series between the two teams, FSCC evened things up at 2-all as they defeated the Warhawks 5-4.
With the game tied 3-3 after six innings, FSCC plated one run in the top of the seventh to edge out the Warhawks by one run.
Talley, Goins, Headley, Rivers and Brandon Bilek all had one hit each for JDCC in the loss while Riley Stokes went 2-for-4. Stokes and Talley had one RBI each.
On the mound, Tyler Joyner, Justin Abdo and Chase Laney all pitched with Abdo being the pitcher of record.
The trio combined to go seven innings and allowed six hits, five runs, two earned, walked four and struck out seven.
