JDCC softball sweeps CSC again to pick up fourth straight win

After sweeping Carl Sandburg College Sunday in Brewton, the Jefferson Davis Community College repeated that same effort Monday in Brewton to improve to 10-13 overall. The doubleheader sweep moved JDCC’s winning streak to four straight wins.
JDCC claimed an 8-0 win in five innings in game one before edging out CSC 3-1 in the second game of the day.
In game one, Kaitlin Hadaway pitched the complete game to earn the win as she held CSC to two hits, no runs, no walks and struck out four.
At the plate for JDCC, the Lady Warhawks were led by Hannah Brake and Jordan Swindle. Brake went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBIs while Swindle was 2-for-3 with a homerun and two RBIs.
Audrey Hamric and Paige Wooley both had two hits each with Wooley having one RBI.
Savannah Allen added two RBIs while Alicia Richardson went 1-for-2.
JDCC scored two runs in the third inning and three each in the fourth and fifth to get the win in five innings.
In game two, JDCC held CSC to only one hit in a 3-1 win. With the game tied 1-1 after two innings, JDCC plated two in the third inning to win by two.
Brake and Hadaway pitched in the win with Brake being the pitcher of record. The two combined to go seven innings and allowed one hit, one unearned run, walked two and struck out four.
At the plate for JDCC, Wooley had two hits, while Brake, Swindle, Tristen Booth, Moriah Trujillo and Paige Lambeth all had one hit each.
Brake had a homerun and two RBIs while Swindle had one RBI.
