Jay hands WSN softball fifth straight loss; JV wins to stay undefeated

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles softball team dropped their fifth straight game Tuesday night at home as they were defeated by Jay 8-1. The loss dropped the Lady Eagles to 3-8 overall.
Jay held WSN scoreless through the first five innings while scoring runs of their own in the first four innings.
Jay led WSN 2-0 after one inning, 4-0 after two innings, 5-0 after three innings and 8-0 after four innings.
Karrisa Johnson led the Lady Eagles in the loss at the plate as she went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Madison Winchester, Jena Wyatt and Erin Salter all had one hit each. Wyatt had one RBI in the loss. Adria Barnett added two hits for the Lady Eagles.
In the pitching circle, Haleigh Dubose took the loss as she went all seven innings and allowed 11 hits, eight runs, three earned, walked three and struck out eight.
WSN made four errors in the loss.
In JV action, WSN moved to 2-0 overall with a 7-3 win over the Lady Royals.
Aleigh Lanier led in the win as she earned the pitching win.
No other stats or game information from the game was known as of press time.
