The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team came away with a split Friday at home against Bishop State.
The Warhawks suffered a 7-6 loss in game one, but earned a 6-2 win in game two to move to 8-12 overall this season and to 3-3 in conference play.

Game one: BSCC 7, JDCC 6
In game one Friday, JDCC rallied late but suffered a 7-6 defeat to the Wildcats.
BSCC led JDCC 2-1 after one inning and built a 6-1 lead after the top of the fifth inning. From there, JDCC outscored BSCC 5-1, but took the loss by one run.
Dylan Johnson, Garrett Davis and Chase Laney all pitched in the loss with Johnson being the pitcher of record.
Johnson went 3 1/3 innings and allowed four hits, four earned runs, walked three, struck out two and hit two batters.
Davis went four innings and allowed eight hits, three earned runs, walked and struck out three.
Laney went 1 2/3 innings and allowed one hit.
At the plate for JDCC, Brandon Davis led the way with a 4-for-5 day with a double. Riley Stokes, Greg Ciangiotto, Alec Talley, Brandon Goins, Chad Simmons, Craig Headley and Dake Rivers all had one hit each.
Goins had two RBIs while John-Mark Cosby had one along with Rivers. Goins had two in the loss. Headley added a double for the Warhawks.

Game two: JDCC 6, BSCC 2
In game two, JDCC scored three runs each in the second and third innings to build a 6-0 lead and held BSCC to two runs in the sixth inning to get the four-run win and the split.
Tyler Joyner and Taylor Baynes pitched in the win for the Warhawks with Joyner earning the win.
Joyner went six innings and allowed four hits, two earned runs, walked one and struck out six. Joyner hit one batter in the win.
Baynes went one inning and struck out one.
At the plate, for the Warhawks, Davis continued his hot streak as he went 2-for-3 with one RBI and a homerun. Stokes went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI while Cosby went 1-for-2 with a double and one RBI.
Ciangiotto went 2-for-2 with one RBI and Austin Armstrong had one RBI. Talley, Goins and Cosby all had one hit each with Goins and Cosby having one RBI each.
