Spring is here and so is the upcoming start of Brewton’s Choo-choo Farmers’ Market.
This year, the market will open Sat., April 4, and will continue each Saturday through Dec. 19. A few vendor spots remain opening, said Connie Baggett, Brewton’s director of program management.
“This year, the market will operate at its new location at Downtown Park by the Bank of Brewton,” Baggett said. “Those who wish to sell produce can participate at no cost. Vendors with value added products like breads, cake, confections and other handmade craft items can rent a space for $10 weekly. A white tent is required, and the city has a limited number of tents to loan on a first-come, first served basis. Spaces are filling up quickly.”
Hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekly, she said.
This year’s season opener will include musical guests Savannah and Anthony Crawford, who are better known across the Gulf Coast as Sugarcane Jane.
“And, we’ll have Pig Daddy’s Barbeque on hand with their delightful fare, so bring the kids and get ready for a day of fun in downtown Brewton,” Baggett said.
