Investigators say Linton’s aunt and grandmother took the child from Union Springs Elementary School before fleeing the state.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert round 11 a.m. seeking two females who were said to be driving a maroon van with North Carolina license plates.

The aunt and grandmother, who have not been identified by name, will face kidnapping charges. The girl’s father, Alton Linton, was questioned by the Union Springs Police Department in an effort to find the girl. It’s not yet clear if he will face any charges.
