First Presbyterian Church in Brewton and Ryan McGraw are a perfect match.
McGraw is the office administrator of the church, and said in her three years of working there, she has found a place that fits her life perfectly.
She is responsible for all financial records, and committee meeting materials. as well as talking and working with members and anything else that arises for a church. She works with Pastor Parker Johnson, Youth Director Spinks Megginson and Treasurer Earl Cooper to have everything ready for every event at the church.
“I never knew what all went on in a church behind the scenes, but it is something you should go to church every Sunday and Wednesday and be thankful for,” she said.
She previously worked with BankTrust of Brewton as a financial service representative for five years before taking her present job in 2012.
“The last three years have been a wonderful blessing,” she said. “To have a church family as your co-workers is something that I am truly thankful for. We have the best members. They really love our community and it is great to be a part of that.”
She also works with Brewton Elementary School’s PTO where her children attend school. She serves as the PTO secretary and Box Top coordinator. Box Tops play a big part in gaining extra funds to be used at the school. With her job at the church, her work with the school and being a wife and mother is not enough, she has her eyes set on another prize.
She is attending Athens State University online and is in her last year where she will earn a bachelors degree in elementary education.
“Becoming a teacher is something I have also wanted to do,” she said. ‘I am excited to be pursuing this dream, although leaving this job when it comes time will be very hard for me because I really enjoy it.”
