TRM JV softball to host tournament March 28

The T.R. Miller JV softball team will hold a tournament Sat., March 28 at the Brewton YMCA Sports Park.
Along with T.R. Miller in the tournament will be Escambia County, Milton, Mary G. Montgomery, Jay and Flomaton will take part.
T.R. Miller will be in pool A with Escambia County and Milton while Jay, Flomaton and Mary G. Montgomery will be in pool B.
Pool A’s games will be on field D while pool B will play on field A.
Escambia County and T.R. Miller will play at 9 a.m. along with Jay and MGM while Escambia County and Milton and Jay and Flomaton will play at 10:10 a.m.
At 11:20 a.m., Milton and T.R. Miller will play while Flomaton and Mary G. Montgomery will tangle.
A break will be held from 12:30 to 1 p.m. and the single elimination tournament will begin after the break.
Pool A’s No. 2 will play pool B’s No. 3 at 1 p.m. on Field A while Pool B’s No. 2 will play Pool A’s No. 3 on Field B. Winners will then advance to play the No. 1 seeds at 2:10 p.m. with winners from that game to play at 3:30 p.m. for the championship.
All games will be played at the Brewton Area YMCA Sports Park and all teams are guaranteed three games. Trophies will be presented to the first and second place teams.
Teams will consists of 10th graders and below and games will be five innings or one hour time limit with no new inning after 55 minutes of play. The championship game will be five innings with no time limit. The 15-run mercy rule will be in after three innings and the 10-run mercy rule will be after four innings. The international tie-breaker will be used if needed except for the final game.
The tie-breakers for games will be head-to-head, total points allowed, total points scored, then a coin flip.
