The contracts for three principals with the Escambia County Schools System were renewed for three years Thursday.
W.S. Neal’s Patricia Frazer, Escambia County High School’s Dennis Fuqua and Escambia Career Readiness Center’s David Lanier were all approved through June 30, 2018.
Fuqua and Lanier each gave their annual principal’s reports to the board and Superintendent John Knott.
“Our scores are up, but we are not satisfied with these scores,” Fuqua said. “We are not going to get complacent.”
Fuqua said the juniors will attend an ACT boot camp at Wind Creek to help them with their scores.
“With this workshop, we should see all students increase their ACT score by two points,” Fuqua said.
Lanier said at his school, there has been an increase in technical resources.
“We now have 24 programs,” Lanier said. “We are the only system to include eighth graders. We have 1,831 total students at our school with a total of 2,067 enrolled in our different programs because some are enrolled in more than one course.”
