JDCC softball sweeps LBW

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks’ softball team earned a sweep over LBW Thursday at home.
JDCC took game one 5-1 and game two 10-5. The sweep improved JDCC’s overall record to 25-21 and to 9-5 in conference play.
JDCC’s game with Bishop State Saturday was rained out. JDCC will be back in action Tuesday at Enterprise State and will be home Thursday against Faulkner State. Game time is set for noon and 4 p.m. Thursday.

Game one: JDCC 5, LBW 1
JDCC’s Kaitlin Hadaway allowed one earned run on four hits to lead JDCC to a 5-1 win over LBW in game one Thursday.
Hadaway went all seven innings and walked none while striking out nine.
In the win, JDCC broke a 1-all tie in the fifth inning as they scored four unanswered runs in the fifth and sixth innings to get the win by four.
At the plate, Paige Wooley led with three hits and two RBIs while Hannah Brake added two doubles and one RBI. Paige Lambeth also had a double in the win.
Jordan Swindle, Shaquanna Jones, Alicia Richardson and Brooke Howell all had one hit each. Katlin Bryars and Katlin Hamilton both had one RBI each in the win.

Game two: JDCC 10, LBW 5
In game two, JDCC plated six runs in the third inning to double up LBW 10-5 and take the sweep.
Brake earned the pitching win for JDCC and also had a double at the plate with one RBI.
In the pitching circle, Brake went four innings and allowed six hits, five runs, two earned, walked one and struck out three.
Hadaway went the final three innings and allowed two hits, no runs, walked one and struck out four.
At the plate for JDCC, Swindle and Chelsey Ramer led with two hits each. Audrey Hamric, Moriah Trujillo, Jones and Richardson had one hit each. Wooley, Swindle and Richardson all had two RBIs each while Hamric, Brake and Hamilton had one each.
