A Brewton woman was critically injured in a Monday crash on Travis Road.
Natalie Grimes, 25, suffered severe head trauma when the Chevrolet Camaro she was riding in left the roadway and struck a tree.
Grimes, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to D.W. McMillan Hospital and later taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
The driver of the vehicle, whose identity was not immediately available, was taken to DWM, where he was treated and believed to be released.
On Thursday, two separate crashes wrecked havoc on Interstate 65 between Brewton and Flomaton.
Six people – including five children – were injured when their van and camper trailer overturned.
Three of the injured were airlifted to a Florida hospital while the remaining three were transported to local hospitals, Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said.
An hour later, a Spanish Fort woman was the sole fatality in a nine-vehicle pile up on Interstate 65 at Flomaton.
Mary Daphine Bridges, 51, died in the fiery crash that involved three tractor-trailers and six passenger cars just after 5 p.m. Five others, who were not identified, were injured and transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the accidents.
