JDCC baseball gets swept by LBW for sixth straight loss

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks baseball team saw their losing streak reach six straight losses recently as they suffered a doubleheader sweep to LBW in Andalusia.
LBW earned a 10-0 win over JDCC in five innings in game one before taking game two by a score of 7-6.
The two losses dropped the Warhawks of JDCC to 17-25 overall and to 10-16 in conference play.

Game one: LBW 10, JDCC 0
In game one, LBW blanked JDCC 10-0 to hand the Warhawks their fifth straight loss. LBW scored four runs each in the first and fourth innings and two more in the fifth to end the game due to the mercy rule.
JDCC was held to four hits in the loss as Brandon Goins, Craig Headley, John-Mark Cosby and Dake Rivers all had hits. Headley had a double in the loss.
On the mound, Dylan Johnson and Ryan Gauci both pitched with Johnson taking the loss.
Johnson went four innings and allowed six hits, 10 runs, six earned, walked six, struck out four and hit one batter.
Gauci went 1/3 of an inning and hit one batter.

Game two: LBW 7, JDCC 6
In game two, JDCC used a late rally in the seventh inning to tie the game at 6-all before LBW plate one run in the bottom of the inning to get the win by a score of 7-6 and to take the sweep. JDCC trailed 5-3 after three innings and 6-3 after five innings.
At the plate, Goins had one hit and three RBIs while Headley had three hits and Caden Lodge had two. Brandon Davis added two hits and two RBIs while Brandon Bilek added one hit.
Goins and Davis had a double each in the loss.
On the mound, Riley Hodge, Chase Laney, Matthew Gillis and Nick Helton all pitched with Helton taking the loss.
The quartet combined to go six innings and allowed eight hits, seven runs, four earned, walked four, hit one and struck out five.
