JDCC softball sweeps ASCC on sophomore day

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks softball team earned a sweep of Alabama Southern recently to move to 29-25 overall and to 13-9 in conference play.
The Lady Warhawks defeated ASCC 2-1 in game one and 9-1 in game two.

Game one: JDCC 2, ASCC 1
In game one, JDCC edged out ASCC 2-1.
At the plate, Hannah Brake led with two hits and two RBIs. Jordan Swindle, Katlin Bryars and Paige Lambeth all had one hit each. One of Brake’s hits was a double.
In the pitching circle, Kaitlin Hadaway earned the win as she went all seven innings and allowed five hits, one unearned run, walked one and struck out five.

Game two: JDCC 9, ASCC 1
In game two, JDCC scored six runs in the third inning to propel them to a 9-1 win over ASCC to get the sweep.
JDCC had 11 hits in the win with Audrey Hamric and Swindle having two each and Caroline Clark leading the way with three hits and three RBIs.
Paige Wooley, Chelsey Ramer, Bryars and Shaquanna Jones all had one hit each. Swindle and Ramer had a double each.
Along with Clark’s three RBIs, Wooley had two while Brake, Swindle, Ramer and Bryars had one each.
Brake earned the pitching win for JDCC as she went all six innings and allowed four hits, one unearned run, walked none and struck out four.
