Youth teams get recent wins

In recent youth sports games, the Brewton Angels, the East Brewton Rays, the East Brewton Lady Blue Eagles, East Brewton Indians and the Brewton Orioles all picked up wins.

Brewton Angels 10, EB Rays 1

Whitley Lisenby and Nolan Atkinson combined to pitch a one-hitter for the Angels of Brewton to lead them to a 10-1 win over the EB Ray.
Lisenby and Atkinson combined to allow one run on one hit, walked none and struck out 13 in the win.
Gavin Leggett had a double for the Rays’ lone hit.
For the Angels, Logan Rowell had a single and two triples while Lisenby had two singles. Ty Harvell added a single while Miller Hart had a double and a homerun.
On the mound for the Rays, Issac Smith and Jacob Bondurant pitched. Smith allowed 10 runs on eight hits, walked two and struck out seven. Bondurant allowed no runs, no hits, no walks and struck out four.

EB Rays 6, Orioles 5
In 12U action in East Brewton, the Rays edged out the Orioles 6-5.
Jordan Crane and Smith teamed up to pitch the Rays to the win as they combined to allow five runs on nine hits, walked one and struck out 12.
Bondurant led with three singles and a homerun while Crane added three singles. Walker Hoomes finished with a single and a double while Antonio Asoing and Smith had a single each.
For the Orioles, Konner Wood and Troy McCall pitched and combined to allow six runs on 12 hits, walked five and struck out eight.
Wood had two singles and a double while Jordan Tolin and Tristan Simpson had a single each. Zack Currier finished with two singles while McCall had a double, Scott Watts had a triple and Evan Hartsel had a single.

EB Lady Blue Eagles 13, Brewton Wildcats 1
The Lady Blue Eagles benefitted from 11 walks as they soared to a 13-1 win over the Wildcats.
Ashli Wyatt pitched the Lady Blue Eagles to the win as she allowed one run on two hits, walked one and struck out six.
Mary Cochran Ward and Ashley Cain pitched for the Wildcats and allowed 13 runs on two hits, walked 11 and struck out three.
For the Lady Blue Eagles, Madison White and Ayannah Johnson had one hit each. For the Wildcats, Abby Terrell had two hits to lead in the win.

Brewton Orioles 15, EB Angels 8
Despite having less hits and having committed more errors, the Brewton Orioles defeated the EB Angels 15-8 in a recent 10U game.
Cole Kelly pitched Brewton to the win as he allowed eight runs on eight hits, walked two and struck out six.
Kelly also led at the plate as he had a double and a triple. Sam Kelly, Logan Tiepo and Bodie Hardy all had a single each.
For the Angels, Caleb Peters, Dakota Peters and Gavin Rose all pitched and combined to all 15 runs on five hits, walked 16 and struck out seven.
At the plate, Blake McNew led with two triples while Eli Adkins had a single and a double. Ivan King, Dakota Rose and Gavin Rose all had a single each. Caleb Peters finished with a triple for the Angels of East Brewton.

EB Indians 5, Orioles 4
The East Brewton Indians picked up their third win of the season Thursday night as they edged out the Orioles 5-4.
Trailing the Orioles 4-0 after one inning, the Indians scored five unanswered runs over the next four innings to get the win by one.
The Indians scored two runs each in the second and third innings and one in the fifth.
At the plate for the Indians, Samuel Bosarge had one hit, one stolen base and scored two runs while Jordan Sims led with three hits and scored one run.
Tyler Brooks added one hit, one run, one stolen base and scored a run while Eric Murphy added a hit and one RBI. Devon Spencer and John Sheffield had a single each.
Langham Parr scored one run in the win.
On the mound, Brooks got the start and no decision while Bosarge earned the win in relief. Brooks pitched three innings and allowed four runs on five hits, struck out two, walked four and hit one batter. Bosarge went the last two innings and struck out five.
For the Orioles, Tristan Simpson and Troy McCall pitched and allowed five runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out six.
At the plate, Konner Wood, Nate Pate and Evan Hartsel all had one hit each. Wood, Pate, McCall and Simpson all scored one run each.

Indians start May 0-2
In their first two games in May, the East Brewton Indians have suffered two losses.
Facing off against the Angels on Thurs., May 1, the Indians suffered an 11-1 loss.
In the game, the Indians led 1-0 after the top of the first inning before allowing 11 unanswered runs to the Angels. The Angels scored four runs in the first, three in the third and four more in the fourth to get the 10-run win.
For the Indians at the plate, Samuel Bosarge scored one run and had two stolen bases in the loss. Dustin Hammac added one hit and had two stolen bases while Walker Cunningham added one hit.
On the mound, Bosarge and Collin Stinson pitched. Bosarge went 3 1/3 innings and allowed eight runs on five hits, struck out six, walked two and hit one batter.
Stinson went 2/3 of an inning and allowed three runs and walked one.
No stats were known from the Angels.

Mon., May 4: Blue Jays 10, Indians 0
The Blue Jays scored seven runs in the first inning to propel them to a 10-0 win over the Indians. The Blue Jays added three more runs in the second inning.
For the Indians at the plate, Bosarge had one hit and two stolen bases while Jordan Sims added one hit. Tyler Brooks also had one hit for the Indians in the loss.
On the mound for the Indians, Alex Alvarez pitched one inning and allowed seven runs on two hits, walked two, hit two and struck out one. Sims pitched three innings and allowed three runs on one hit, walked, struck out two, walked two and hit one batter.
No stats were known from the Blue Jays.
In other games for the Indians this year, they defeated the Rays 2-1; defeated the Orioles 10-6; lost to the Blue Jays 13-1; lost to the Brewton Angels 7-1; and lost to the Rays 7-2 in their first game of the year.
In their two opening day games, the Indians lost to the Rays 4-2 and defeated the Orioles 3-1.
In their 10-6 win over the Orioles, Bosarge had a triple and one RBI while Sims had a triple as well. Brooks finished with two doubles and two RBIs while Devon Spencer had two hits, one RBI, and one stolen base. Langham Parr added one RBI in the win.
On the mound, Brooks earned the win as he went four innings and allowed five runs on five hits, walked two, hit one and struck out nine in the win.
Also at the plate for the Indians, Russell Ball added two singles and two RBIs while Walker Cunningham and Dustin Hammac had a single and one RBI each.
