After peeling out and running a stop sign in front of Brewton Police Sunday, two area women are facing a slew of drug charges after cops found cocaine, meth, marijuana and prescription pills inside the car.
Sgt. Josh Stanley said police were first called to the Brewton Masonic Hall at approximately 3 a.m. on a report of a car blocking the entrance.
Stanley said Officer Toby Anthony and Officer Branden Barlow made contact with the vehicle and sent it on its way.
“That’s when the driver, 36-year-old Alicia Bradley of Flomaton, got into the vehicle, sped off at a high rate of speed and ran a stop sign,” Stanley said.
Officers then performed a traffic stop after witnessing the infractions. Deborah Stallworth, 61, of Brewton, was identified as a passenger in the vehicle. Stallworth was arrested as part of the BPD’s drug round up in April, Stanley said.
“When officers did an inventory of the car, they located drug paraphernalia, marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, and 26 prescription pills that were later identified as Hydrocodone. There was no one with a prescription in the car.”
Bradley was charged with driving under the influence, two counts of possession of a controlled substance (meth and cocaine), possession of marijuana II, possession of drug paraphernalia and a number a traffic citations.
Stallworth is facing three counts of possession of controlled substance (meth, cocaine, pills) and possession of marijuana II and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stanley said she could also face a bond revocation charge from her April arrest for distribution and possession.
Stanley said all 13 residents wanted as part of the department’s April drug roundup have been arrested.
