Dogwood Hills to host Lupus Golf Tournament

The second annual Lupus Golf Tournament, in memory of Elvira McMillan, will be held Sat., June 13 at the Dogwood Hills Golf Course in Brewton.
The event is to help support the programs of The Lupus Support Network. The event will see a $2,000 pay out, goodie bags for players, and a 50/50 raffle.
There will be morning and afternoon rounds with registration set for 7 a.m. The event will tee off at 8 a.m. and will be a two-man scramble.
The afternoon registration will be at 12:30 p.m. and will tee off at 1 p.m.
Each team receives ½ of the lowest team’s handicap. The first flight will have handicaps of zero to eight while the second flight will have handicaps of nine to 15.
All men will play white then blue tees. Ages 65 and older will play the light gray then dark gray tees. All women will play the red tees.
The amount is $75 per golfer. Other events at the tournament will include longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt.
Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that can affect various parts of the body, especially skin, joints, blood and kidneys. It is said that one out of every 185 Americans has lupus.
Dogwood Hills Golf Course is located at 2385 Douglas Avenue, off Highway 31, in Brewton.
