Clark: Banker by day, businessman all the time

Andrew Clark is a very busy man.
Not only does he work full-time at Trustmark as vice-president of commercial lending, but he is also the owner of a downtown retail business. Put that together with the fact that he is active in his community and one can see that he has little time left over during a typical day.
“We don’t have much free time, but we find time to do the things we really want to do,” he said. “It’s all in how you look at it. I have good people working for me and that makes a big difference.”
Clark said he always wanted to return to Brewton.
“It worked out even better than I could have imagined,” he said. “We knew Sammy Weaver who owned Weaver’s in downtown. He was talking about retiring and offered my wife and me the opportunity to buy the business from him. It all worked out perfectly. It became ours in 2012.”
Since that time the Clarks have opened a second Weaver’s in Evergreen. Clark said the stores are very different – locationally – but it works.
“There may even be other opportunties sometime in the future, and we are hoping to be able to expand the store in downtown Brewton,” he said.
While building a thriving business, Clark is still using his marketing degree at Trustmark.
Clark was born in Brewton and grew up here. He is the son of A.D. Clark Jr. and Betty Clark. He graduated from T.R. Miller in 1997 and later Troy University with a degree in marketing.
He married his high school sweetheart, Jenni, in 2004.Their son, Will, was born in 2009 and Clark said that he was glad that it worked out so Will would be close to his grandparents and would grown up in a small town atmosphere.
Add to the busy lives they lead, the fact that they are very involved in community functions and love to deer hunt, it would seem that their free time is very precious to the whole family.
