Game preview: TRM at Tallassee

After falling Friday night at the hands of class 4A Andalusia, the T.R. Miller Tigers will head to class 5A Tallassee this Friday in search of its first win.
Tallassee started the season 1-0 Friday night as they downed Notasulga 26-0. TRM owns a 4-0 record all-time against the Tigers after defeating Tallassee 21-10 last year in Brewton. Friday’s game will be the first time TRM has travelled to Tallassee as all four previous games and wins have come in Brewton. Prior to last year’s regular season game, the teams only meetings were in the playoffs.
Riggs said Tallassee is similar to what they brought to Brewton last year.
“They will have some of the best defensive linemen that we will see all year,” Riggs said. “They do a great job. Offensively, they are similar to last year. They are a running football team and we have to try and stop them running.”
Riggs said Tallassee will not beat you throwing the ball a lot, as they like to run the ball.
“We understand that philosophy and we are going to have to bow up and toughen ourselves up to defend their running game,” he said. “They don’t have the (Brandon) Baynes kid from last year, but they have some real quality people. We need to get the game into the fourth quarter, like we did the other night, but we just need to make the plays in the fourth quarter to get a win.”
Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Tallassee.
