The T.R. Miller volleyball team continued its hot streak on the road against Straughn Tuesday.

The middle school Lady Tigers won their game 2-0. BMS won in dominant fashion in the first set, 25-9. They would take the second set, 25-21 for the match win.

The TRM JV Lady Tigers dominated in straight sets winning 25-8 in the first, and 25-11 in the second for match win.

TRM’s varsity went 3-0 in three close sets.

TRM took the first set 25-21. With a nailbiter second set, TRM took the win 26-24. In the third set TRM would down Straughn again 25-21 for match win.

Coach Terri Lynne Peacock believes Straughn was a great test and likes the fundamentals her girls displayed.

“Straughn is a good volleyball team,” Peacock said. “They made us step our game up early this season, which is always a good thing. We were able to slow them down a little, pressuring them defensively by playing tough on the net. One of the things we focused in on after last week’s match was our ball control. Our girls did a better job putting the ball where it needed it to be allowing us to be more successful offensively.”

Amelia Peach led the TRM Lady Tigers with 11 kills.

TRM(2-0) will travel to play Monroe County(2-0) Thurs., Sept. 3. The JV game will start at 4 p.m. followed by the varsity at 6 p.m.
