An East Brewton teen is dead after an early morning crash seven miles north of Brewton Friday.

Trooper Jamie Maloy of the Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as 18-year-old Devontaye Trevon Taylor.

Taylor, a 2015 W.S. Neal graduate, and two others were traveling in a 2007 Chevrolet HHR when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned at approximately 4:45 a.m. Taylor, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

The other passengers, who were not identified, were transported to D.W. McMillan Hospital for treatment.

Maloy said the crash, which occurred on Ala. Hwy. 41 near mile marker 16, remains under investigation.

No other information was released.
