This past Saturday, T.R. Miller volleyball traveled to Straughn to play in the third annual Straughn High School Volleyball Tournament. TRM would go 2-1 for the tournament, losing to Straughn in the championship match.

TRM beat Brantley, 25-23 and 25-8 and defeated Kinston, 25-13, 25-23; however, the Lady Tigers would fall to SHS, 21-25, 18-25.

TRM head volleyball coach Terri Lynne Peacock said she was proud of her team’s performance despite the result.

“During the Straughn game, we were unable to break a couple of their scoring streaks,” she said. “We spent too much time playing from behind in that match. The girls fought hard to come back, but in the end, we were unable to get the job done.”

Leading the Lady Tigers were senior Mykayla Harris with 11 kills, 9 blocks and 4 assists and senior Amelia Peach with 14 kills and 7 blocks.
