Trick-or-treat events set

Local residents will have several options for this year’s trick-or-treat event.

Brewton will observe Halloween on Thursday, from 5-8 p.m., and the streets will be open for all the little goblins and ghouls.

Additionally, a “Hallelujah Night” event will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the John L. Fisher Community Center. Sponsored by local churches, the night “will serve as a Christian alternative to what the world calls ‘Halloween,’” organizers said.

There will be food, fun and fellowship, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Costumes are welcome; however, organizers asked that no scary costumes be worn and that adults not wear masks of any sort.

The Brewton Standard will offer its traditional Halloween pictures from 4-5:30 p.m. at its office on St. Nicholas Avenue. Photos will be $2 each or three for $5 and available at a later date for pickup. All photos will be included in a special section printed in the Wed., Nov. 4, edition.
